Mr. Matthew Box serves as the orchestra director at Page High School. He is a graduate of Baylor University and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, holding degrees in music education and viola performance, along with a certificate in musicology. Someday he’ll also finish his thesis in music theory (apologies Dr. Ricci)… Previously he’s taught orchestra, music theory, music appreciation, choir, and even a bit of math and English at Lee County High School in Sanford, NC and at Bonner Middle School and Westwood Middle School in Danville, VA. When he’s not teaching his students at Page High School and at Mendenhall Middle School, Mr. Box enjoys playing with local professional symphonies in Winston-Salem, Greensboro, and Salisbury. His wife Catherine is also a teaching and performing musician, and they spend their free time together playing with their awesome dog Neville, watching their favorite shows on Netflix, and fixing whatever’s broken most recently at their house in Greensboro.
